Home » Reflections on My First Week at HDN
By Caithlin Knox, Membership Services Co-ordinator, Housing Diversity Network
Hello to all! It’s an exciting time for me and I’m eager to gradually get to know everyone – I have joined the team as the new Membership Services Co-ordinator, with a focus for membership retention and growth.
Before joining HDN, my journey for the past three years has been focused on Transformation and Tech within social housing, local government, and the NHS, in a recruitment capacity. For those who may know me, my passion for connecting with people and addressing challenges head-on is no secret. My experiences have shaped me, leading me to where I am today.
This initial week has been nothing short of 100MPH. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in Board Trainee sessions, dive into Spotlight EDI sessions, and meet some of the remarkable associates who make up our vibrant community. A standout moment was a visit to Auto Trader, where I learned about their decade-long journey in enhancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion within their organisation.
EDI has always been close to my heart. Yet, in the hustle of professional commitments, finding the time to make a significant impact in this area has been challenging. Now, more than ever, I am committed to making a difference. I look forward to learning and facilitating learning among others, contributing to our collective mission of creating a world where unity and inclusivity are not just ideals, but realities.
The team at HDN have made me feel incredibly welcome, and learning from them I know is going to be effortless as they are all full of passion! – A big thank you to Mushtaq too for taking me under his wing, really looking forwards to learning from him and hopefully carrying the torch as I raise awareness on what HDN is all about!
Here’s to the journey ahead – may it be one of progress, collaboration, and lasting impact.
