Home » Leadership Development Programme for First-time Line Managers
This programme has been designed for those who have recently, or are about to become line managers for what may be the first time, to help ensure they are well-equipped to thrive in their new roles, effectively support their teams, and learn learning & coaching skills that will benefit those working with them.
Six group workshops are spread over a number of months, allowing participants to put their learning into practice between sessions, embed their new skills and be supported over this period of time. It will also help them to bond as a group to enable peer support and learning on an ongoing basis. Also included is a StrengthScope 360 assessment and a one-to-one session to explore the feedback from the report.
Sarah Parr has worked across a variety of public, private, and third sectors - including a 10-year career with a global professional services firm and a leadership role within a high-growth private-equity backed technology business. Her career now includes a non-executive portfolio through which she has chosen to support organisations with a strong social purpose. Sarah is currently Chair of Fairoak Housing Association, Chair of the Audit & Assurance Committee at the Calico Group, and has extensive experience working with organisations and individuals within the housing sector, including specific experience coaching those moving up into roles with increased responsibility such as director-level positions.
Housing providers she has supported in a similar capacity include Eastlight Homes, Castles & Coasts Housing Association, Ekaya Housing Association and Arawak Walton. “My clients tell me that working with me can be like finding a missing jigsaw piece to their puzzle, as I am able to listen, reflect and hold space in a way that facilitates their thinking and provides transformational change. Working together has helped to build confidence in self-trust, and explore new ideas.“
“As a Chartered Accountant and qualified Executive and Team Coach, I bring commercial rigour and strong analytical skills. I understand the challenges and complexities that senior leaders and organisations face and I know how people think, how organisational cultures develop, and how to cultivate positive teams. This means that together we create meaningful, tangible results.
I use a variety of tools and techniques in coaching sessions to provoke new thinking from my clients and encourage them to adopt new approaches. I also work a lot with clients to better understand their personal values. This aligns to the Barrett Model ™, which determines those values that matter most to us and the ways in which these influence our behaviour. Clients like working with me for my approachability, my honesty and my sense of humour.”
