Multiskilled Repairs Operative

£33,052.50 per year

40 hours per week; Permanent

Monday – Friday; 8am – 4:30pm

Mobile across Suffolk

We are looking for a Repairs Operative to join our in-house Orwell Repairs Service, to carry out day to day responsive repairs and void property works across Ipswich and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Our Repairs Operative’s key responsibilities include:

Working in line with Orwell’s vision of fixing repairs first time, improving quality and providing a positive first response.

Working on your own initiative to ensure that ‘call backs’ to repairs are minimised and that ‘fix right first time’ repairs are maximised.

Dealing with tenant enquiries professionally and courteously.

Liaising closely with Head Office staff in the notification and reporting of repairs progress.

About you:

Our ideal Repairs Operative will…

Have good knowledge of general building/construction and experience of general property maintenance.

Have knowledge of both Carpentry and Plumbing.

Need to be flexible to change your working day to respond to urgent repair needs if required.

Person Specification…

Carpentry & Joinery qualification is desirable.

Certificate in Plumbing is desirable.

Certificate in Painting & Decorating is desirable.

HNC (or equivalent) in Building Studies, is desirable.

Due to the nature of this role a full UK Driving Licence is required.
