We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Income & Financial Resilience Manager, our Income Officer’s promote and contribute to a strong performance culture, ensuring the Group’s rental income is maximised by the control of rent arrears in accordance with the Group’s Policy & Procedure.

In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.

What do our Income Officer’s do;

  • Lead on low level arrears promoting a culture of rent is the first priority and work on preventative initiatives with customers to highlight the importance of paying rent.

  • Chase payment of rent and arrears by telephone, e-mail and letter when required in accordance with the Group’s policy and procedures .

  • Deal with Housing Benefit/Universal Credit overpayments and arrange for credits to be returned to customers/Housing Benefit, DWP Departments once full investigations have taken place.

  • Support the Neighbourhood Officer to prepare court paperwork to ensure compliance of the pre-action protocol and support the Neighbourhood Officer to follow the case through to court as and when required.

  • Develop and strengthen partnerships internally and externally and collaboratively with other teams improve the customer journey and actively promote interagency working throughout the Neighbourhood teams.


What we are looking for;

  • Educated to good standard of education with minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) at Grade or above including English and Maths.

  •  Experience of income collection and management

  • Experience of working in a strong performance team

  • Able to manage and prioritise a demanding workload

  • Has strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner

  • Is customer focused and a desire to provide services to a high standard
