Summary:
We’re looking for a Head of Regulatory Performance to join us on permanent basis, based with our Assurance and Business Improvement team. The role can be based in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol or Leeds.

Job Description:
The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) regulates for a viable, efficient, and well governed social housing sector able to deliver quality homes and services for current and future tenants.  Since the April 2024 our remit has been extended giving us additional powers and responsibilities around the importance of safe, decent homes for social housing tenants and on landlord transparency and accountability.

As Head of Regulatory Performance, you will play an important and central role within our regulatory engagement directorate, leading and supporting the effective delivery and continuous improvement of the overall programmes of regulatory engagement.

You will be responsible for leading the directorate planning, performance and delivery processes that underpin the delivery of the agreed regulatory activities.

Working closely with the Directors and Assistant Directors of Regulatory Engagement, you will be responsible for maintaining a focus on performance against the business plan, promoting consistency and efficiency, and leading the production of management information and performance reports.

Working collaboratively, you will lead and support knowledge sharing and on-going training to support capacity building and rigorous regulatory decision making. This is a leadership position, where you will also be responsible for supporting the ongoing performance and continuous improvement of RSH’s regulatory approach, contributing to strategic projects as required.

Responsibilities
As our successful candidate, you will have a strong track record of applied strategic thinking capability and delivering results in a regulatory, financial, legal or assurance-based environment. You will have strong programme management, resource planning and organisational skills and the ability to draw up and effectively support delivery of complex programmes of work.

You will be great at problem solving and have excellent attention to detail, as well as first class communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports that draw out the key issues; developing, analysing and presenting clear performance information.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work across team boundaries in a constructive and collaborative way.

Location
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester office will be relocating during 2025, however will remain within the city centre. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

Interviews
Interviews are expected to take place Friday 14 February and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
