Role: IT Apprentice
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £18,528 per annum in year 1, increasing to £18,694 in year 2
Contract: 18 months
Location: Mariner House – Dartford/Working from Home

We’re on the lookout for an IT Apprentice to join our Data & Technology team here at Moat!

You will be providing a support service to the Information Systems team, resolving routine IT issues and contributing to new programmes and projects.

You will also complete a relevant qualification and functional skills in English and Maths as required.

Your role will include: 

  • Providing administrative support to the Helpdesk Team Leader for contract and maintenance renewals, together with software and hardware asset management.

  • Assisting the IT team in the day-to-day running of the organisation’s infrastructure.

  • Providing first line support to the organisation, investigating, diagnosing, and solving computer software and hardware faults.

  • Receiving and handling requests for information and provide routine advice to customers on systems, products, and services available to them.

  • Carrying out configuration, testing of new kit, and setting up user accounts.

  • Helping to plan and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades.

  • Assisting with maintaining the IT asset register, recording when equipment is issued and returned.

  • Completing a Level 3 Information Technology Communications qualification and functional skills in English and Maths as required.


We’re looking for someone who has:

  • English and Maths GCSE Grade C+/4+ or equivalent.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with others.

  • A can-do attitude.

  • Awareness of the key principles of customer service.

  • Awareness of standard security practices and methodologies.

  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
