Who we are: Plus Dane provides homes and services to over 30,000 people across Merseyside and Cheshire. Our aim is to tackle social inequality by enabling individuals and communities to thrive and our customer team is at the heart of what we do.
Working with our customers really does change people’s lives and if you want to make a difference Plus Dane is the place to be!
We live by our values of working together, achieving for our customers, taking ownership, and having the opportunity to learn and grow.
What we’re looking for from you to join our team: We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Fire Safety Technical Manager who is passionate about fire safety and committed to ensuring compliance across our housing stock. You will be a subject matter expert in fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act, and PAS 79, with the ability to provide clear technical guidance to colleagues, contractors, and external partners. Your expertise will help shape and deliver our fire risk assessment programme, ensuring that remedial actions are effectively managed, and all fire safety measures meet the highest standards.
To thrive in this role, you will need strong leadership and management experience, with the ability to oversee fire safety teams, and a experience of managing fire risk, conducting inspections and audits, and delivering fire safety strategies, ideally in high-rise residential buildings. Experience in budget management, contract procurement, and supplier performance monitoring is also essential, as you will play a key role in ensuring value for money while maintaining compliant fire safety services.
Beyond technical expertise, we’re looking for someone who is a confident communicator and problem solver, able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior management and operational teams to residents and regulatory bodies such as the Fire Service and HSE. You will be proactive in keeping up to date with fire safety trends, emerging legislation, and best practices, ensuring that Plus Dane remains at the forefront of fire safety compliance.
If you have a strong track record in fire safety management, we’d love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, leading fire safety initiatives and creating safer homes for our residents.
What you’ll get in return:
We offer hybrid working and you will be working a 7-hour day between Monday – Friday.
You will be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and great benefits, including a cash healthcare plan, employee assistance programme and generous shopping discounts. We also have a competitive company pension scheme, where we contribute 8% and our colleagues can contribute anything from 3% upwards.
From the moment you join you have 35 days holiday plus bank holidays, including the days between Christmas and New Year. This is part of our commitment to our peoples’ wellbeing, which is recognised through our accreditation by the Wellbeing Charter and supported by an excellent management team and colleagues, including wellbeing champions and mental health first aiders.
