Job Description

Come and make a difference at Karbon as a Governance and Risk Administrator

Are you an experienced administrator with an interest in the areas of governance, risk and assurance? Do you take pride in delivering an excellent service and have a keen eye for improving processes? If so, we are looking to appoint a suitably experienced individual for the role of Governance and Risk Administrator in the Governance, Risk and Assurance Team and we would love to hear from you.

About Karbon
At Karbon we build, manage and look after affordable homes for people across the North. And then we go further, we give them the strong foundations they need to get on with life. Our footprint covers the North East of England and Yorkshire, with almost 34,000 homes across diverse communities.

Some customers just need an affordable home, or a way onto the property ladder. Others might need a bit more – financial advice, community services, sheltered accommodation or training that can lead to a new job. Whatever people need to feel more secure, confident and happy with where they’re at, we work our heart out to provide it.

By combining a sound business head with a strong social heart and staying true to our values, we hope to build strong foundations for even more people.

About the role
The role will help enable Karbon to meet its strategic objectives by supporting the embedding of sound governance practices and the effective management of risks. You will oversee several key processes across the wider Directorate, including managing and maintaining corporate registers, frameworks and documentation to ensure that we meet our statutory and regulatory requirements.

You will sensitively manage confidential data and seek updates from management team members where required.

You will also play an important role in identifying areas for improvement across the team and embedding these changes.

About you
You will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and have excellent interpersonal skills to build effective and strong relationships with internal and external customers.

You will also have good organisational skills, attention to detail and be someone who takes immense pride in their work.

Previous administration experience is required. Experience of working within a governance or risk team, or similar corporate service role, would be an advantage but is not essential.

About our team
The successful candidate will work in our Governance, Risk and Assurance Team and report to the Acting Head of Governance, Imogen Potter. If you require further information about the role, please contact Imogen on 0191 223 8582 or imogen.potter@karbonhomes.co.uk.
