This is an exciting opportunity to join Peabody as their Managing Director - North West London. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will lead the strategic development and implementation of excellent customer services through Peabody’s regional operating model, driving their teams to achieve high levels of performance. This role will play a pivotal role in representing Peabody at a regional level, working closely with local government members and key stakeholders.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for developing and executing regional communities programmes, ensuring local activities are tailored to the need of the communities Peabody serve.

  • Develop a performance-driven culture, that is agile in its thinking and working practices. One that understands the driver to improve resident satisfaction within the agreed budget envelope.

  • Develop and oversee your regional business plan that supports, informs, and influences Group strategy and drives high levels of performance and the consistent delivery of services.

  • Management of the regional P&L, holding others to account and ensuring we deliver value for money to our customers.

  • Accountability for delivery of Estate Services within the region, ensuring working practices meet all legal and regulatory compliance requirements alongside ensuring we are delivering an excellent, value for money service within our neighbourhoods and to our customers.

  • Build strong working relationships and work closely with other Directorates in ensuring the delivery of a cohesive service that provides excellent customer services.

  • Alongside the Development team you will forward plan in terms of new development/growth; ensuring we are building the right homes in the right location to meet the needs of customer groups in your region.

  • Alongside the Asset Management teams you will utilise data, feedback and local knowledge to build property investment works plans for your region.

  • Using data and insight to support proactive and intelligent decision-making.

  • Undertake appropriate communication with residents, listening and acting to the customer voice.

  • Ensure a modern and commercial approach, improving efficiency, and value for money.

  • Be accountable for Operational and regional risk management – identifying, mitigating, monitoring and updating as required.


Peabody is looking to appoint a senior leader who has the following attributes:

  • An experienced Operations Director who has played a significant role in improving resident services and delivering change management in services and structures within a complex sector.

  • Experience of working at an Executive level is desirable.

  • An interest in local/regional policy and a desire to influence for the greater good of our customers and business.

  • Experience of leading large multi-disciplinary teams, with effective delegation, coaching and risk management.

  • Ability to constructively challenge, leading by example and holding others to account.

  • Be able to effectively build relationships, especially with external stakeholders.

  • A strong networker who can act as an ambassador for Peabody, helping to attract new business and new talent.

  • Impressive track-record of delivering excellent customer service, seeing improvement in customer satisfaction through a customer centric approach.

  • A passionate advocate for Peabody’s residents – present and future.

  • Naturally collaborative – sees team and personal success as indivisible.

  • Great at building an accountable and empowered team, with track record to demonstrate this.

  • Ability to deliver easy, reliable, empathetic service to your internal and external customers, by seeking to understand fully your customers’ needs, identifying and working to remove pain points, and always doing what you say you will.
