Join our Board of Trustees as an Independent Co-optee
We are recruiting two Independent Co-optees to join our Board of Trustees. The Board sets and actively drives our purpose, mission, aims and values, and through these, is working to embed within the organisation a clear customer focus, inclusion, integrity, openness and accountability. The Board also acts as the Parent for all entities within the BVT Group to ensure these entities support and enhance the delivery of BVT’s mission, aims and values.

Members of our Board of Trustees are also appointed to the boards of two other BVT Group entities: Bournville Works Housing Society (BWHS) and Bournville Almshouse Trust (BAT).

This is a really positive time to join BVT as we progress our continuous improvement activities and focus on improving the quality of our services and homes within a changing regulatory environment.

To support us on this journey we are particularly looking to recruit candidates with senior level experience within the following fields:

Social housing sector, particularly housing, neighbourhoods and customer experience.
Asset management, including asset performance, capital investment and proportionate carbon reduction measures.

We aspire to have a diverse board and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join BVT. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented on our Board which includes people under the age of 55 and/or from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Skills and experience requirements
We require a range of skills and experience across our governance structure.
For this role, we are specifically looking to recruit an independent member with skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Social housing sector, particularly housing, neighbourhoods and customer experience.

  • Asset management, including asset performance, capital investment and proportionate carbon reduction measures
